In response to a request from the LBCA board, Tess Cooper has sent us the PowerPoints she prepared for the August 22, 2013 meeting. These PPs will be posted on the ICPD (Shoreline) page. There will also be a meeting prior to the annual meeting: September 28, 7:30 to 9pm at Camano Center. The meeting will consider pending community issues and will be open to all community members.

The LBCA board has prepared some FAQs in response to questions from community members: LBCA Frequently Asked Questions-9-18-2013. In future FAQs can be found in the Documents section of the website.

The LBCA Board has scheduled a board meeting for Saturday September 28 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Camano Center (big blue
building) the same location where most of the LBCA meetings are held. The scheduled annual meeting will still be held on October 6.

In accordance with the Bi-Laws, the meeting is open to all Community members who wish to attend and observe.

The Board will be discussing current pending community issues.

Proxy for 2013 annual mtg

Island Country Planning & Community Development has invited all members of the LBCA to a meeting in order to cover the following topics: Is my property in the Shoreline Jurisdiction? When to get a Shoreline Permit; How to get a Permit; How to properly report a violation; and the state of the Livingston Bay Shores Community. This meeting is not hosted by the LBCA board; however, we believe there will be valuable information, so we encourage everyone to attend–even those residents not on the water side–and we will help to distribute information presented at the meeting.

Given the predicted good weather on the weekend, the LBCA has planned the annual Garage Sale for Friday, August 9 from 9am-4pm, and Saturday, August 10 from 9am-4pm. Brad & Shannon Rochon, at 847 LIvingston Bay Shore Drive, will provide promotion and advertising for the sale. If you’d like to participate, it would be helpful if you put a signal (such as a balloon or flag) on your mailbox or in your driveway.  Sorry for the short notice, but it’s a good idea to take advantage of the sunshine. Island County Planning & Community Development (sometimes referred to as Shoreline Planning) has requested a meeting with the LBCA Community to be held in August or September.  The meeting would include topics such as native growth planting, shoreline codes and restrictions and community property management as it relates to the shoreline.

Tess Cooper, a representative from ICPCD, will be mailing an invitation to LBCA members soon with details about a meeting date, time and place.

This meeting is important to our Community to ensure we are managing the shoreline in accordance with Island County codes. Shoreline would greatly appreciate as much community participation as possible. Although we will be posting information on the LBCA website, this meeting will be a great opportunity to ask specific questions, so we hope many of you will attend.

Don’t forget to RSVP for the LBCA Community Picnic, which will be held August 4 from 1-3 pm at 808 Livingston Bay Shore Drive, as a potluck. RSVPs should go to 425.941.6261 or LBCASOCIALCOMMITTEE@gmail.com. See the attached flyer for more information. The picnic is a great opportunity to:

·         Meet old friends and make new acquaintances with your neighbors.

·         Share in some great potluck gastronomical delights

We also need some volunteers who can bring pop up shade awnings and long tables to the Brislawns by noon on Sunday at 808 Livingston Bayshore. Please RSVP so we can plan appropriately.
