As you may have noticed on the agenda for the February 9th Special Meeting, the board intended to discuss in more detail the effort underway to survey and remove encroachments on shared community property Tracts A and B. We’ve noticed there are still many questions coming up on this initiative and we wanted to give you a chance to share your thoughts, but unfortunately we ran out of time. We were unable to allow the February 9th meeting to run over the scheduled 5pm meeting end time, due to another party having reservations for the venue. Therefore, we invite you to attend a Town Hall meeting to discuss the plans for and issues related to the Tract A and B survey, identifying encroachments, removing them, and restoring these areas to their natural state. Please save the date and plan to attend. This is a Town Hall meeting and not a Special meeting, so no proxies will be collected.

LBCA Special Meeting Feb. 9 at 3pm
Please save the date and plan to attend or send a representative/proxy to the next LBCA Special Meeting. To avoid the Super Bowl, it is now scheduled for Feb 9 (some of you may have Feb 2 on your calendar–please note the change).

Invitation: Annual Holiday Social at the Rochon’s
Brad and Shannon Rochon invite the community to a holiday social:

As in the past, the Rochons will collect donations to the Stanwood Food Bank and to Davis Place at the Stanwood Resource Center. If you are not able to attend the social and would still like to donate, please feel free to drop it by. Donations will be dropped off on Monday, December 16th.
“There will be hot chocolate and apple cider. If you would like to bring something, cookies, brownies, pumpkin bread, or something else yummy will go well with the warm drinks. Please dress warm as the party will be in the open garage and outside in the driveway by the warm heaters and fires pits. And maybe we will see Santa again? Opinion re: recording association meetings
At the Livingston Bay Community Association (LBCA) Annual Meeting on Oct 6th, a question was raised regarding video and (or) audio taping meetings.
A motion was made and passed to have the Board seek a legal opinion from the LBCA Attorney on this issue. You can find the letter with LBCA Attorney Paul Taylor’s opinion on the LBCA Policy page.

Sound Salmon Solutions is hosting a free Shellfish Dinner at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center in Stanwood, on Saturday, September 28th from 4-7pm! Expert speakers from Taylor Shellfish and the Pacific Shellfish Institute will speak about water quality, ocean acidification and the ecosystem services of shellfish. Students from Stanwood High School will be presenting posters on water quality. Delicious, locally sourced shellfish and produce will be prepared by Danny Pickering from the Stanwood Grill. There will be prizes from Stanwood Cupcakes, Jersey Mikes Subs, the Stanwood Grill, Ivar’s Restaurants, Misty Mountain Farm, Black Label Deserts and more! Information from Island Country Planning & Community Development (ICPD)

Keep in mind, these materials were produced by ICPD. The LBCA board is not responsible for their content. We want to thank Tess for all the information she shared and for sending these materials.
Information for October 6 meeting

There will also be a meeting prior to the annual meeting: September 28, 7:30 to 9pm at Camano Center. The meeting will consider pending community issues and will be open to all community members.

Additional board meeting scheduled
The LBCA Board has scheduled a board meeting for Saturday September 28 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Camano Center (big blue
building) the same location where most of the LBCA meetings are held. The scheduled annual meeting will still be held on October 6.
In accordance with the Bi-Laws, the meeting is open to all Community members who wish to attend and observe.
The Board will be discussing current pending community issues.
